FABULOUS again and again. Had another wonderful stay at Christmas 2022 and April 2023 says it all that we keep coming back. The accommodation has everything you need like home from home and the location just amazing for a peaceful calming stay. The restaurant never fails to tantalize the taste buds !!! And all made possible by hosts Peter and Leigh. Many many thanks as always X
We missed Rufus this weekend and how you managed to keep it together is testament to your professionalism. We are going to miss our favourite restaurant in Spain and Rufus was very much a part of it all. Thank you Peter and Leigh for a lovely meal and overnight stay in your gorgeous casitas. Many many thanks to Peter and Leigh for their great hospitality during our stay in the Cortijo, they couldnt have done more for us to make us feel so welcome. The house was beautiful and very tastefully decorated and we needed for nothing. The are is very quiet and perfect to wind down from our hectic life and jobs back in the UK.
We have already booked for 2023, cant wait to come back.
We had two fantastic meals, the staff are absolutely fantastic nothing to much trouble, made us feel very special. The views are to die for. We also stayed in the 2 bed accommodation which was exceptional, probably the best place we have ever stayed. A massive thank you to Peter and Leigh for making our stay so perfect

PERFECTO !!!! Oh my goodness once again we have just had a fabulous time. The accommodation comfortable and well equipped as always. The restaurant serving superb food prepared by Leigh and managed front of house by Peter is still amazing. It's such an unspoilt area so quiet and relaxing just what you need to unwind and forget the hassle. Any time of year it never disappoints, already looking forward to our next visit.
Spent my birthday dinner here, it being greek evening made it even more special and all the surprises throughout, staying in the cortijo for a week makes it even better.
Lunched on sunday and i can honestly say the food ,service on both occasions were second to none.
Leigh and Peter keep doing what your doing we love your food and your home.
First time staying here and wont be the last. Great location for just chilling and unwinding. We stayed in the 1 bedroom house and it was lovely, completely different from what we are used too back home which made it even more special.

We wanted to try the restaurant and because we enjoy a drink or three decided to stay over, even though we only live 30 mins away. We were greeted by Peter and shown into our overnight accommodation, which included a log burner with lots of wood and a continental breakfast ready for the next morning with tea, coffee, fruit, bread, jam, butter, water & milk - very welcoming. The restaurant was lovely and warm, nicely lit and we were seated near the log burner, bliss! My hubster had the prawn special and I had the salmon koftas for starters, they were both delicious, our mains were respectively the sea bass and the duck served with a lovely selection of vegetables, both dishes were superb and so succulent. We shared the pistachio cake with apricot sorbet and then a short while later the Spanish cheese board - we also shared two(!) bottles of a very silky Rioja. We had a fabulous meal, overnight stay and we bought a couple of Dandy Lion goodies, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place, Leigh's food is delicious, Peter is a lovely host and not forgetting Rufus who is just the most adorable dog! 5 out of 5 💙
Just a long weekend away break in an area of Spain we hadnt visited before. Lovely Cortijo with Log Burner and really comfortable with everything we could need for our stay. Met by Peter, Leigh and their lovely dog Rufus they couldnt have done more for us. Loved the area and the accommodation. Thanks for a fantastic stay, we will be back.
FABULOUS AGAIN !! Our return visit as wonderful as before only difference August stunning sunshine. You couldn't be disappointed with the peaceful and relaxing location. The accommodation is superbly equipped and furnished with many extra touches. If possible always eat in the restaurant where Leighs food is scrummy and Peters front of house flawless.
We have already booked for 2020 and 2021.
Together with Rufus the dog its a winning team. Can't wait for next holiday. Debs,Nick & Draftie X

Still brilliant food in the Restaurasnte Los Lucas, good to see Peter and Leigh still offering their usual high standards of hosting and cooking...and of course the lovely Rufus x
Stayed the week in the four bed Villa.. Wow!!!! Beautiful, comfortable and well thought out accommodation.. Home from home 🏡 😁.. Would recommend to anyone wanting the perfect idyllic break away along with fantastic food... A MUST 😁
Fantastic meal, fantastic service in a beautiful setting. Dietry requirements met with perfection (notified the week before) and have to say its the best meal I've had since living in Spain... Will definitely be returning 😁..
Had friends over to stay and as we are in the middle of renovating our place and knew they would love this place, and not far from us either...They stayed in the 2 bed Casita and loved it and of course really handy having the Restaurant so close by....highly recommended....we have booked our friends in again for next year.... If we hadn't seen you guys and your fabulous place on the programme we may not have been living here now! Saw you on TV and thought what a beautiful place, so booked to stay last summer (turned out the filming was taking place that week, so had a sneak preview). We loved Los Lucas and knew then we wanted to move to the area. So we have sold up and moved to Spain! See how inspirational you guys are, makes one think yes I could follow my dream.
FABULOUS stay in an unbelievable location if you want peace and tranquillity with stunning views this is it. The one bedroom house is so cute and immaculately clean equipped to a high standard with everything you could possibly need. The fridge was stocked with water, milk and more importantly vino. Leigh and Peter are absolute genuine guys and together with their gorgeous dog Rufus make perfect hosts with a heart of gold, nothing is too much trouble. They helped us out of a very sticky situation with other accommodation problems in Malaga and we are very grateful to them for their generosity. Leigh is a wizard in the kitchen we can highly recommend the restaurant you will not be disappointed it is superb. We can't wait to return asap !!! THANKYOU SO MUCH

We saw Peter and Leigh on "A New life in the Sun" last year and as the whole place looked so lovely we decided to visit during a trip to Spain in March. We spent 3 nights in one of the rental properties and ate in the restaurant on the Saturday night. The acccomodation was fabulous, a traditional casita beautifully decorated and with everything you need for your stay and the meal we had in the restaurant was the hilight of our trip. Everything about the evening was very enjoyable, the restaurant is a lovely, relaxed place to eat, the food and service were both excellent and it was great value for money. Peter and Leigh were great hosts and if you like rural Spain, this is a lovely place to visit.

I’ve recently returned from a most relaxing week at the Cortijo. We stayed at the very comfortable four bedroom house and loved it. The bonus was our private pool. Peter and Lee were friendly and attentive hosts. They even provided towels and folding chairs to take to the beach! We loved returning to the peace and tranquility of the area after a visit to the pueblos and playas a scenic drive away. A big plus was the on site restaurant - superb menus and food reasonably priced and on our door step! The Cortijo was a great find for us and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you Peter and Lee!
What a find,have just returned from a stay at Cortijo Los Lucas an idyllic and tranquil piece of paradise. But not to far of the beaten track only 15 minutes from the A7-E15 motorway.
Staying in Casita Higuera the 1 bedroom house which has been sympathetically renavated to a high standard and surprisingly spacious with all you need for your stay. The town of Huercal Overa provides you with all your shopping needs a short distance away.
The perfect hosts in Peter and Lee cannot be faulted with there warm welcome and valuable information about the area.
The restaurant with Lee in the kitchen and Peter front of house is a joy to eat in. The cuisine is cooked and served to an incredibly high standard and is a great asset to Cortijo Los Lucas.
It is a winning formula and Peter and Lee are to be commended for what they have achieved. I have no doubt will be back in the not to distant future.l
We enjoyed a wonderful 11 nights in September staying in Casa Las Palomas . Simply idyllic location set amidst the andalucian hills, a perfect getaway yet with all the amenities you could possibly require easily accessible in nearby Huercal Overa.
Casa Las Palomas has been meticulously restored to a superior standard, as can also be seen in Restaurante Los Lucas where we sampled many culinary delights expertly prepared by Leigh.
You couldn't wish for better hosts in the affable Leigh & Peter with their warm welcome & local knowledge.
We can't wait to return next year for some more r&r !
Just returned from a 3 night stay in the Cortijo Lucas and wow what a stunning place this is.... If you want rural Spain this is it. We stayed in the two bedroom house which was immaculate and has the most amazing views of the countryside. Peter & Lee are the perfect hosts and will make you feel very welcome, give it a try you will not be disappointed.
Stayed in the 2 bed house, very cosy lots of wood beams and character. Loved the views and waking up to the sunshine. Hosts were great and a good welcome pack was there when we arrived.

Wow, the accommodation has been sympathetically restored in a traditional Spanish style with a modern twist. We stayed in the 2 bedroom house last year but this year we stayed in the 4 bedroom house with its own private swimming pool, which we have to say was very welcoming, peaceful, and tranquil with fantastic views. A welcome pack of essentials was waiting for us in the fridge with all the basic essentials you would need to start your holiday. 10 out of 10 from us. We'll be back next year.
Stayed in the three bedroom property in late March. Wonderful location in the peace and quiet off the hills above Huercal Overa. The house itself has been stunningly restored and is spacious and comfortable. The owners have cleverly modernized but yet still returned the charm and the character of the original farmhouse buildings . Early in the year it was great to be able to use the wood burning stoves in the evening . The pool looked inviting with fabulous views down the valley.
Fabulous value for money and highly recommended .
